Over a month ago, Whitney from HeartFelt Truths asked if I would review her Holy Week Easter Banner kit. I was super excited, especially since we have been trying to make these special holidays equally much about Jesus equally possible.
The kit came fully assembled, made out of high-quality felt and sturdy enough to stand up up to my fiddling "destroyers". Everything is perfectly organized and laid out so that you can have information technology out of the box and offset using information technology immediately.
As you tin can see in the pictures below, in that location is a symbol (or ii) for each mean solar day leading up to Easter Dominicus (as well known equally Resurrection Lord's day). When you receive the kit, you will also get a guide neatly organized in a folder that includes step-past-pace instructions and scriptures for each mean solar day of the Holy Week.
What I dear about this is that you tin customize information technology to the historic period and attention span of your children. You can summarize the story for younger children (using the scriptures suggested) or you can read the scriptures in their entirety for older children.
The unabridged kit is well thought-out and beautifully prepared. I've never really thought most explaining the Saturday afterward Jesus' death in the fashion Whitney has suggested. Nosotros are so excited about starting this tradition with our family this year!
Whitney is selling her banner in her Etsy Store for $35 and I would highly encourage you to take a look at information technology. In my opinion, this is well worth the toll every bit information technology will be something you tin can use year after year. She has also offered a free template for the Easter symbols, if you lot wish to make one of your own.
You tin see how information technology works in the pictures below. I hung ours from a wreath claw on our pantry door and that will definitely be the place that nosotros go on it during the days leading up to Easter since it is prominent in our kitchen.
Go along in mind that as you lot add new symbols, y'all'll keep the sometime on likewise…I showed only each day'south symbol then that it is easier to tell what it is.
A donkey and palm branch represent Palm Dominicus.
Peter cuts off the soldiers ear with his sword and Jesus receives a kiss of betrayal from Judas.
Pilate washes his hand of the Jews demands for Jesus' expiry.
This day is very interactive. The children can identify the nails into small slits pre-cutting on the cross. The blackness felt piece is folded over the rod to represent the darkness after Jesus' death. Jesus' body can be placed inside the tomb at the lesser of the imprint.
Again, I would highly recommend this product for any family wishing to focus on Jesus life, death, and resurrection this Easter season! Head on over to HeartFelt Truths' Etsy Shop for more than info!
